Your workshops should ONLY make firewood (something the player cannot create). If the category was larger (1000 for exampel) then you would want to research into mint to get more wheat seeds, but as it is it would not be efficent and you would waste too much time mining and researching and never plant anything). It is NOT worth it to research ANYTHING other than bread. The rule of thumb is if you cant climb it with a 1/4 block, then the zombies cant either. You should NOT build a full wall as it will take more time and resources. But the big test will be when exactly is that.Īs shown in the videos, you only need 1 raised block to eye level to keep zombies out. So you should NOT make any guys until it is time to push to 100. Which means, they do not "pay off" until they have been farming for at least 2 and a half days. So you can expect about 18 food per day from your berry farmer. Berry Farmers make about 23 food per day and cost 5 food per day. There is a certian point when the colonist will actually be a drag on your economy, not a boon. Although this saves the most space, your colonist will be doing too much running between plants and crates to make it worth doing IMO. Note that you can also do 1x15 berry farms (15 units with 8 plants). I think 3x7 is best because you are 12% more production potential. You actually want the smallest possible berry farm! In game that is a 3x7 (21 units with 8 plants) or 5x5 (25 units with 9 plants). The only exception to this is if you will not be able to fit in another 2 day wheat planting and harvesting cycle.Īs best as I can tell, the size of your berry farm does not effect production (unlike wheat). 0)The most vital rule is to never be sitting on unplanted seeds.
